Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) (Retired) was commissioned in Pakistan Army on 10 Mar 1989. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, NDU Islamabad and College Interarmee de Defence France. He holds Masters Degree in Arts and Science of Warfare from University of Baluchistan and M. Phil from NDU Islamabad. Apart from various command, staff and instructional appointments and commanding his parent regiment, he has commanded Artillery of an Armoured Division, an Infantry Brigade, Strategic Forces South, an Infantry Division, PMA and Army Strategic Forces Command. He has been conferred with the award of Hilal-e-Imtiaz (M). He has been appointed as Secretary Ministry of Defence, Government of Pakistan on 01 Oct 2024.
